"These things do happen, you know. Hmm? Kuro-pii?"
That stupid smile again. That lame mask he always wore. Who the hell was he to say that, being entirely his fault.
"'These things do happen'? Like hell, it does! The place is up in flames!" Kurogane flapped his arms, gesturing at the chaotic scene before him.
"Anoo, Kurogane-san... shouldn't we..."
"We will do no such thing! You want them to haul you away somewhere for being responsible?" Syaoran's timid comment was cut short by the livid ninja's screech. He meekly sat down on the grass beside Sakura who held a feather in her hand, encased in some sticky glue, preventing her from absorbing it at the present time. They'd handle that problem after the matter at hand.
"But we can't just leave the whole city like this..." Sakura stated, worriedly.
"LOOK! It's his fault, and if anyone's going to fix it it'll be him!" Kurogane retorted, glaring at the blonde mage.
"Kurogane-san, it was only paste. He couldn't have known what it would do..."
"WELL, WHY THE HELL WAS HE SNIFFING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?"
Silence. The crackle of flames.
"I never knew simple adhesive was so... flammable." The two teens nodded in agreement, at Kurogane's words, still watching the orange glow of the city before them.
"I never knew it could cause one to get that drunk..." Syaoran said with wonder in his voice. Sakura nodded, and Kurogane sighed, as the four-some watched the occasional blue jet of flame shoot up from the general orange mess.
"Oh, looks like it lit another container, Syaoran-kun." Sakura pointed at a large tower of blue shot up the chimney of one of the few intact buildings. It wouldn't be standing for very long. Syaoran sighed.
"Wai! There's a lot of paste in this town!" Mokona chimed, as he bounced off of Fai's shoulder and over to the younger pair, Sakura and Syaoran. Kurogane, Syaoran and Sakura all nodded in unison, not turning to look away from the show Fai's accident had created.
"But why did he light a candle?" Sakura and Syaoran sat up, musing in unison. Kurogane shrugged, and Mokona remained chipper. Fai was still silent. At last, all four pairs of eyes fell on him, or rather, 3 pairs and one solo left eye, if any of you Syaoran fans are watching. Fai was motionless. Until at last, with utter solemnity...
"If you liked the smell, there's no way you could get enough of the taste..." He sighed dreamily.
Another lovely silence. The four silhouettes and odd ball of fluff loomed like statues on the hill overlooking the crumbling city.
"I... I think we should go now." Kurogane buried his face in his hands.
"Agreed."
The kids and Mokona all nodded in agreement, standing quickly and walking down the hill. Fai blinked, confused.
"What? It really was, guys! You don't believe me? Hello? You're not leaving without me, are you...?"

Heh. Fai seems like the sort of guy who sniffed paste as a child, right? XD Yup. Enjoy the random-ness.
