A/N: I wanted to write a story on how Leo, Raph, and Donnie are always so protective over Mikey, so here it is!

11/12/14: I updated this story because it was so short.

The turtles were getting ready to go hiking. They were in the kitchen, making sure they had everything they needed. Well, except for Mikey.

"Are we going yet? Are we going yet?" Mikey asked repeatedly. He couldn't wait. It was his first time going hiking, so he was excited, of course.

"No, no yet, Mikey," Donnie sighed. "Why don't you go read your comics or something? I heard Master Splinter got a new one for you. We'll call you when we are ready to go camping."

Donnie had seen a Spiderman comic book in Master Splinter's room earlier. Mikey was the only one who liked Spiderman, so it had to be for him!

"Really? Yay!" Mikey said as he ran off to Splinter.

Donnie shook his head. His little brother was always like that, always the least mature out of the rest of them.

"Okay, back to the list," Leo said, sending Donnie out of his thoughts. "Do we have water bottles?"

Donnie and Raph scanned the group of items cluttered on the dining table. "Yes!"

"Food?"

"Yes!"

"First-aid kit?"

"Yes!"

"Sleeping bags?"

"Yes!"

"Tent?"

"Yes!"

On and on the list went until they finally finished making sure they had everything.

"Then let's go," Leo said as they picked up the bags and left to go hiking.

They went to the secluded part of a forest. Donnie kept on making sure they had everything. Raph made sure there weren't any bugs. Leo watched out for danger. So far, everything was going well until-

"Wait!" Leo shouted to his brothers who were in front of him.

"What is it, Fearless? Did ya see a bug?" Raph asked fearfully. He cowered behind Leo. Everyone knew Raph's fear of bugs, especially cockroaches, and was often seen being chased by Mikey holding a bug.

Leo shook his head. "No, we forgot something!"

Donnie frowned. "What do you mean, we forgot something? I triple-checked the list to make sure we got everything, and we did! Well, I'll check again..." Donnie scanned the list and the items in the bag. "We do have everything, Leo!"

Leo said, "No, we forgot Mikey!"

The three brothers exchanged worried glances. "Oh no! We gotta go back for him!" Raph exclaimed as they all ran back to the lair. They didn't know how they had forgotten their little brother, but all they knew was that they had to back for him.

They found Mikey sitting sadly in his room, his eyes slightly red and swollen as if he had been crying. They all hugged him.

"We're so sorry Mikey!"

"We won't do it again!"

"We shouldn't have gone so quickly!"

Mikey smiled. "It's okay, guys! Can we go now?" That was Mikey, still forgiving his brothers despite the incident that had just happened.

Everyone laughed.

"Sure, Mikey, let's go!" Leo said. This time, they didn't forget anything.

Ever since this incident, though, Leo, Raph, and Don have been very protective over Mikey.
