One Night
*Change*
Nobody understood that one night could change everything like John and Jessica did. They had been so happy with Brody and Natalie until they found out that baby Liam was Brody's son and just like that everything had been changed. They had lost everything that had made them happy and had been given pain in it's place.
*Pain*
John escaped from the pain by alcohol and sex. He owned Rodi's so he drank as much as he wanted and he consoled himself by empty, meaningless sex with Kelly who also needed an escape from Love's painful bite.
Jessica couldn't drink because it would kill her, so she escaped her pain by dissapearing inside of herself and letting her alternate personslites take care of the pain and clean up the mess that Natalie had left behind. They both had found a way to escape the pain, but they still hadn't been able to fill the void that they had been left with.
*Void*
John stared out the window feeling empty and exhausted. Kelly was sleeping and he had ran out of alcohol. He was exhausted, but he couldn't sleep so he went for a walk.
Jessica woke up naked and wrapped up in Ford's arms. She had no idea how she got there, she pulled out her mirror and saw Tess looking back at her. She didn't feel scared, angry or hurt. She wanted to feel those things because then she would know that she was still alive, but she didn't feel any of those things because she was dead inside. She got dressed in the dark and left. She didn't know where she was or where she was going. She didn't recognize anything until she saw John walking her way. She recognized the dead, emptiness in his eyes and she suddenly felt a connection to him.
*Connection*
"Do you want to go somewhere and talk?" Jessica asked as she suddenly became desparate not to lose the connection that she felt to John.
"I'm not very good at talking, but I'll listen," John stated as he took Jessica's hand.
He took her to a Cofee house and they talked for hours about Brody, Natalie and the betrayle that they both felt.
John no longer felt alone in his pain and the thought of Jessica leaving him was unbearable. "Do you want to come back to my place?" John heard himself asking.
"I thought that you would never ask," Jessica stated as she smiled and took his hand.
*One Night*
John and Jessica went back to his place and made love in the shower, in the kitchen, in his bed. They had pleasured each other in so many unexpected ways and John didn't ever want Jessica to leave. He had found a connection that he had never had before and the only thing that he knew for certain was that he couldn't lose it. "I know that this is sudden, but will you move in with me? I don't want to be alone any more," John explained.
"I'll move in with you first thing in the morning, but right now I just want to fall asleep in your arms," Jessica stated.
One month later, John held Jessica's hand as they waited for the results. John smiled and squeezed Jessica's hand as the plus sign appeared on the pregnancy test. One night had once again changed their lives, but this time they were looking forward to the changes that it would bring.
