The Claim
It was our first day back at Camp Half-blood and we were all eating diner. Rachel was up with Chiron eating. I was at the Poseidon table as always. I was watching Rachel talking to Chiron and pointing at me every once in a while. She was going to stay here for the summer. About halfway through diner, Rachel collapsed, and I had a feeling she had a prophecy to give. Anabeth and I ran up to her and as soon as we got there, she sat up. Her eyes open wide and staring straight ahead as if possessed. She opened her mouth and began
"The River Styx has dried up
The big 3 will come back
This may have happened present or past
And each will claim 3"
She was all of a sudden back to herself and sat up and started eating. Everyone was staring at her, including me. All looking just above her head, where a symbol danced. It was the same symbol that danced above my head. The same one Tyson had. She was my half-sister. I took her food and set it up across from me at the Poseidon table, still gaping at her. She then glowered at me then came over, and was beginning to look self-conscious.
"Why is everyone staring at me?" She whispered.
"You were claimed." I whispered back.
"Really? Who's my mom?" She asked excitingly. Someone coughed at Hermes table.
"Your mom is your mom; you should be asking who your dad is." Anabeth told her, stepping in.
"My dad?" Rachel questioned. "Who's my dad?"
"Same as mine. Sit and eat. I'll bring you to our cabin later." I told her
"Wow. But I thought Oracles couldn't be a demigod."
"Neither did I. After diner you can ask Chiron." Anabeth said, then turned around and walked to her table. The rest of diner, Rachel said nothing. I tried to make conversation many times, but she was spaced out. When everyone else was done, she ran up to Chiron and they talked. I left with Anabeth back to the cabins. We got to my cabin, kissed each other goodnight, and she walked toward her cabin. I sat there alone, waiting for Rachel to get a bunk. I started to think about the River Styx being dried up. Does that mean no one could get to the Hades, would all promises made on it be broken, and would my invincibility be gone?
Rachel came in and picked the bunk below mine. She fell right asleep. I turned of my light and also fell right asleep. Poseidon claimed his three children, if you count Tyson, but who will Hades and Zeus claim? This will be an eventful summer.
