Mia Fey had convinced herself that not only was this a moot point, it was unbecoming to worry about the matter as she had been, which was to the point of obsession. She and Diego Armando had been "seeing" each other for a few weeks now, and he professed to being in love with her. Although Mia completely trusted him, the last few days she had found herself questioning the statement. The two were quiet about their relationship while at work simply to avoid any legal issues, and both were busy with their work but it seemed to Mia they were talking far less than usual- perhaps less than before they had started dating.

Mia told herself she was not going to be a jealous girlfriend. She wasn't going to be clingy. She wasn't going to be vomit inducing sweet-as-pie type of girl. She was going to be a girlfriend who Diego would never want to let go, and she would give him nothing to complain about. Diego was a handsome, charming and intelligent man, with many female (and male) fans who would be overjoyed to replace Mia in a moment.

Until this week Mia didn't doubt her standing in Diego's mind and heart, he told her how much he loved her in the most darling ways- even writing drafts after drafts of love letters never sent. She had found the drafts one morning and when she casually asked what the occasion was (Valentine's Day and White Day were months away) her only answer from Diego was a blush, a stammer and something about coffee that he had to make right that second although his white mug was filled to the brim.

Her emails to him were unanswered. He didn't call, didn't text, didn't flirt in the hallways, no winks, no post-it notes on her desk declaring their next date with time, place and dressing guidelines, nothing.

He was however always making time for another woman. Mia told herself not to be jealous. The woman was just a prosecutor that Diego was working with on his current trial… and a few previous trials… and there was a possibility they would be working more closely on the next trail… There was a need for the two of them to go out of state to see one of the crime scenes and hear from that police department- "why not travel and work together" was the general idea.

Mia sighed to herself. There was nothing to do about it. She didn't want to lose him but if he had already lost interest in her, then why bother trying harder? All that there was to do for now was to finish her work in the office, go home, get ice cream and an action film to take her mind off the situation… whatever the situation was.

Due to some twisted and disconnected logic Mia found herself making and pouring a cup of coffee. Placing it on a tray she carried it into Diego's office and switched his empty mug with the new one. He didn't look up, she didn't say anything. A heavy but not really uncomfortable silence.

Diego picked up the mug, brought it to his lips, chugged some coffee in normal Diego fashion and set the cup back down, continuing his paperwork.

Mia smiled softly, leaned over and kissed Deigo's temple.

"Thanks Kitten." He whispered.

Mia kept her little smile as she walked out of the room, washed the mug and continued about her work. He still loved her, there was no doubt in her mind. After all, he drank her coffee and she made just about the worst coffee ever.
