This is just a short little one shot...Where Lucas doesn't tell Peyton it's her at the State Championship...I know it's very short but I just have had this little scene in my head for quite some time and wanted to share it with you guys...Let me know if you like it...If I get enough response I might even add more to it...Oh and thank you LPfan4Ever for inspiring this little one shot...
Brooke and Peyton are sitting in the locker room waiting for the state championship to start. Peyton looks over at Brooke "You were wrong. You said in the car I was afraid to tell Lucas that I loved him but I did. I- I told him last night. He doesn't want to be with me." Brooke looks up at her shocked "You can smile now." Peyton tells her sadly.
A little while later after Haley collapses in the bathroom Brooke and Peyton are sitting in the waiting room at the hospital. Brooke turns to Peyton "So what exactly did he say to you? Lucas, when you told him?" Peyton looks at her with a pained look on her face "Oh." she says simply.
Brooke looks at her stunned "What?" she asks in shock. Peyton looks at her and half smiles thinking how sill it sounds "He said 'Oh'." she repeats. Brooke rolls her eyes and they both laugh "Boys can be so dumb." Brooke says still chuckling.
Peyton's smile fades and she looks away for a minute "Well I probably shouldn't have been surprised. I asked him once who he wanted next to him when his dreams come true. He said you." she tells Brooke who looks completely shocked.
Brooke shakes her head a little "Why would you tell me that?" she asks. Peyton shakes her head a little and gives a nervous smile "I would've given anything to hear him say me." she answers sadly. Brooke just looks at her giving her a sad smile.
Later after Haley has been checked out they return to the game. The guys are just coming back from half time. The girls stand together watching the game and at the last second Lucas shoots a three pointer to win the game. Everyone is screaming the crowd is going wild as the confetti starts falling.
Brooke finds Lucas in the crowd "Luke!" she cries out as they hug "Oh my god this is amazing." he says. Brooke smiles at him "This is a dream come true." she says as they both glance over at Peyton "So who do you want standing next to you?" she asks him with a smile. He looks at her surprised "Go!" she nods her head towards Peyton "It's ok." she assures him.
Lucas begins walking towards Peyton "Hey! Nice shot." she tells him. He grins at her "Nice legs. A little chickeny." he tells her. They hug then she looks at him "Well I'll be seein ya." she tells him as she begins to walk off.
Lucas stands there for a minute staring at Peyton before turning to look at Brooke, in that moment he's at a crossroads. He looks back at Peyton then back to where Brooke is standing before moving toward one of them. "It's you." he says and she looks at him confused "What?" she asks. "When all my dreams come true, the one I want next to me. It's you." she grins at him "It's you Brooke." he says as she throws her arms around him and kisses him.
As she is kissing him she looks over and sees Peyton with a pained look on her face and Brooke can't help but feel just a little satisfaction, after all the pain Peyton has caused her Brooke feels that she has a right to be a little happy by the fact that she is causing Peyton some pain. Brooke pulls away from Lucas who looks deep into her eyes "I love you Brooke." Brooke smiles and kisses him again.
