The Deal
AN: This one shot is written from Todd's point of view.
"Delgado, I need to talk to you," I demanded as I walked into her office.
"I'm in the middle of another meeting Mr. Manning. Please have a seat outside and I'll be with you as soon as I can."
"So get rid of them. I need you now."
"I hate to break it to you, but you're not my only client," Tea stated as she glared at me.
"I'm not leaving until you talk to me Delgado."
"Go ahead and talk to him, I'm going to find another lawyer," Alex Olanov stated as she walked out of the office slamming the door behind her.
"Great Todd...you just cost me another client," Tea stated in frustration as she stood up and walked over to me. "What's so urgent."
"Blair woke up...I need you to marry me."
"Excuse me?"
"Now that Blair's awake she's going to fight me for custody of Starr but if I'm married to a successful lawyer like yourself then I'll have a greater chance of keeping my little girl in my life," I explained.
"I hate to break it to you Todd, but I'm not in love with you so why would I marry you?"
"Come on Delgado, I know how much you love to win."
"That's true...I do, but you're suggesting that I commit a fraud on the judicial system and winning is not enough of a reason for me to go into this plan of yours."
Tea was a tough negotiator and I quickly realized that I would need to offer her something for her to marry me. "I'll give you a million dollars for you to marry me," I stated.
"If you want me to marry you then you're going to have to pay me five million dollars."
"Two million dollars," I counter offered.
"Five million dollars cash...take it or leave it."
"I'll take it," I stated as I shook her hand. I knew then and there that Tea was my equal in every way that mattered. We were both ruthless and would never back down from a challenge. She had helped me in more ways then I could count and now she was going to help me keep my little girl.
