„You ready to go home, Castle? " Kate asked and grabbed her bag.
"Sure"
"Night guys" Kate called and waved at Esposito and Ryan.
"I can't wait to take an ice cold shower. It's so hot"
"Sorry I can't help it. Maybe I should step away from you then"
A laugh slipped through Kate's lips.
"No need to because I am pretty sure Esposito is causing the heat"
Castle shot her a look and pressed the button for the elevator.
"You know that I am joking" Kate said as the elevator doors opened.
"Yeah, yeah"
Kate sighed. He wasn't buying it.
"I'm sorry if I have wounded your pride" Kate replied as they stepped out of the elevator.
Kate smiled at him and intertwined their hands and looked around. Castle squeezed Kate's hand.
"Let's go home" Castle replied and dragged Kate further down the street.
Kate nudged him and kissed him softly.
Meanwhile Gates had opened her window and had watched the entire scene. A smile spread across her face. Castle made her smile rarely but she could see how good he was for Kate and he was actually pretty useful in the precinct. But the thing that made her smile the most was that the two of them still had no idea that she knew. She had known first day she saw them after the rooftop accident. They acted different around each other and as long as Castle didn't screw up or one of them was having a bad time, she kept her mouth shut and watched them dancing around each other at the precinct.
