I am afraid of you, of the circumstances that have wrenched you out of nothingness and have brought you here, against my body, silent and sullen.
But here you are standing in my office building. I don't need to know how you found me. If you threatened U.S. Marshals, that's your business. All that matters is that you're here now.
Oh, Liv, you look radiant.
I do not hear you walk across the carpeted floor in my office. You press a finger against my lips. I know to keep quiet. You remove your finger and pull me even closer to you. Your lips move closer towards mine. The aroma from your shampoo fills my nose.
You're going to kiss me. Excitement bubbles from within me. I can't tell you how long I've waited to feel those smooth lips of yours caress mine. I need your tongue to be tangled with mine. I just want to hold you and never let you go. Your mouth is millimeters away from me. I can almost taste your strawberry lip balm.
"Emily," a voice calls.
You're disappearing. Someone nudges my shoulder. My secretary.
"Your eleven o'clock is here." She exits.
No. You can't be gone. I don't want to be Emily Peterson, the insurance company employee. I want to be Alex Cabot, Manhattan SVU ADA and girlfriend of Olivia Benson. As my door closes all the way, I realize I will never be that woman again.
All is fast, violent, without conscience: I lose myself in nothingness.
