Ron slammed his potions book on the table, frustately grabbed his Weasley red hair and gave Hermione an angry look. "How does he find the time to assign us these amounts of homework? This is just impossible!" "Well, if you didn't spend all day outside fooling around, you would find time to do these amounts of Homework!" Hermione responded calmly and turned back to her parchment. "I was at Quidditch practise," he responded with a sour expression on his face. "And as far as I can see you are still working on it as well! So much for me being lazy!" Hermione snorted. "Please! I completed it this afternoon and still had time enough to visit Hagrid who told me that you had just been there asking him some rather weird questions!" For an instant Ron looked astonished, but then his face wore the old frustrated expression again and pointedly irgnoring her last remark about Hagrid he continued this conversation that was sure to emerge to an argument in no time. "If you are already done, why are you still sitting here that late scribbling?" "I'm writing a letter!" Hermione responded without looking up. The sudden cold in her voice told him exactly who it was for and although they had had that same argument ever since that very specific person had entered their lives, he couldn't stop himself. "Who is this for?" he asked his voice full of anticipation. "Viktor." came the answer as usual. Ron felt his cheeks feeling hot and knew his ears were turning red and before he knew what he was doing he felt himself standing again. "Why do you keep doing that Hermione? He is not good for you! He is-" "Just a friend!" She finished for him and put the parchment down on the table for the first time during their conversation. It was a certain sign that Ron had just gotten himself in trouble again, but he didn't care. "No he is not! At least he doesn't seem to think so! Don't you understand what you are getting yourself into?" "Ron you're being ridiculous!" shouted Hermione and rose from her armchair. "As I remember it you were the one who couldn't get enough of Viktor!" "That was before I knew his personality!" "Oh so you know him? Tell me, how is he? I couldn't imagine!" she said with bitter sarcasm in her voice. "He is... he is not good enough for you!" "I see. So you expect me to sit around here all day while you and Harry are doing whatever you are doing and to have no other life without you two?" "Well there is Ginny..." Ron mumbled, losing his confidence. "Very funny Ron. So you choose who I can be friends with and who not. Should I ask you in the future whether or not I can talk to people? I can make my own decisions!" "Not if your decisions are wrong! And writing another stupid love letter to Viktor is definetely a wrong decision!" "It is NOT a love letter, Ron! And I want you to stay out of my private life! You're not my boyfriend!" "Okay, private life we call it then. Fine. Don't come back to me crying when he hurts you, just so you know, because I will do EXACTLY what you said!" He shouted at her at the top of his lungs and stormed up the stairs into the boys dormitory, completely forgetting his potions homework. Hermione spent some time pacing through the room trying to calm herself and just as she took up quill and parchment again, the portrait of the Fat Lady opened and wearing an exhausted expression on his face Harry stepped in.
