Myrnin – the first time he uses a mobile phone – after he has been saved from the illness and is fully healthy. Oneshot.
"Ok, so Myrnin, you have to plug the phone into charge before you can use it," Claire patiently explains to her vampire boss who seems to be finding it difficult to comprehend that the phone needs to be charged before it is used, even though he can grasp Newton's Law of Motion in seconds. Incredulous! She shakes her head at this, with Myrnin still trying to use the phone that has no battery life.
"Claire, the phone isn't working," he moans and she grows impatient now, after explaining 15 times that the phone needs to charge. She has said it simply, she has even gone into major scientific detail as to why it needs to charge before it is used, but still he won't understand!
Finally, she grabs the phone (Blackberry Curve, rather nice actually) from his hands and plugs it into the end of the charger before turning the electricity on at the wall. Myrnin makes a noise of surprise at the phone, which beeps when it begins to receive the electricity that is charging its battery.
4 hours later:
"Now the phone is fully charged, you need to turn it on," Claire says patiently, her patience restored with the 4 hours of challenging physics that intervened between this session on the phone and the last.
"So, how do I do that?" he asks and she demonstrates, the phone making the jingle phones that are turning on always do. Then the homepage comes up and Myrnin is so shocked to hear the phone talking – he pressed a button – that he throws it across the room, where, upon impact with the wall, it shatters into many pieces.
Claire sighs before going to clean it up – they got further than she expected!
Sorry for how short it is – its only about 300 words but I thought it was quite funny and sweet
