This is just a little poem I wrote after watching the movie. This was and still is one of my favorite scenes in both the movie and book. :]
I don't own and I don't profit. ;)
Enjoy. 3
So perfect in all the horror,
Sweet and soft and pure.
My little bird, grounded forever,
Wings clipped,
Fragile bones shattered and maimed.
As I sing for her,
Sing for all the children,
The families that never will be.
The snow is falling all around us,
His fault… his fault… HIS FAULT!
Safely now, she sleeps,
Rests in my arms,
Ushered to the darkness by small hands.
Final notes, silenced the birds and the green,
Babies and killers and the in-between.
'Don't worry, sweet one,'
A kiss laid on a mocha cheek,
'They will rue the day, I swear.'
Any thoughts? 3
