Disclamier: I don't own them. Me just a very poor college student. So please don't sue me. Thankies!
Author's Notes: Please try to go semi-easy on me. Because this is my first ficlet and Saiyuki fic. It is yaoi and there's angst and death kinda. The caracter may be OOC.
Love is such a trifle thing. How can it hold the universe together but still be able to rip it apart? This question had no answer. That is why there stood a lone figure above one gravestone. There was no answer to appease his pain. There was nothing to help him heal. Only the cold stone to keep him comfort.
How could the whole world be cheerful? How could the sun shine? There was no answer. He stood there for what seemed to be an eternity. Telling the tombstone everything he whished he could have told him when he was alive. He told him how his day was and how everyone else was doing. But he always came back to the subject of love.
The one thing he regretted to tell him. But when he did it was too late. He told him they could have had a lifetime together in happiness. But it wasn't meant for them. He yelled. He cried. Finally, he sunk down to his knees. He knew he should have told him. But he was a coward.
Many who know him would say different. Those who truly knew him would have said he was one. He was afraid to live. Always hiding behind a simile. Never showing his true emotions. Now his was just a hollow shell. He still hid behind his mask. Unlike in the past years, it doesn't reach his eyes anymore. They are empty, devoid of any emotion.
He might as well as died that night but fate wasn't kind to a sinner. He killed so many innocent demons in revenge. In the name of the one he loved. But who was there to go after this time? There was no one to blame but himself. There was no excuse like the last time. There where no pathetic villagers to yell at... to blame. He had nothing. He only had guilt.
Guilt greater then the lives of the thousand he killed. The guilt he felt could not even compare to when he watched his love commit suicide in front of him. He could not do anything to stop her. He was helpless. He just stood here and watched. Watched as she said good-bye. Watched her silt her throat. He could not save her. Once again he could not save the one he loved.
He might as well have been the one to kill them. The knife used to kill Kanan was his own. The other died saving his life. He took a hit that was meant for him. He should have been watching his back closer. He killed both of them. He wasn't strong enough to save them. Because, he wasn't brave enough to tell them the truth.
"I love you."
Genjo Sanz0 Ill-tempered priest who was loved by all
He walked away so he could return again. Say the words that meant so much in the last few minutes of his life... words that could have been spoken sooner. Love is a trifle thing. So how come it can make a man whole but leave him empty in the end? How can one sacrifice everything they hold dear just to protect the one they love? How can one give up their life to save another's? To these questions there is no answer. There is no peace for Cho Hakkai
Ponder: comes out of hiding Is it safe to come out yet?
Hakkai and Sanzo: making out in the corner NO!
Ponder: YEEP! runs away from angry mob
Sanzo: You should run faster you killed me.
Ponder: hiding in a tree Sorry to all Sanzo fans but I had to kill him for the fic. He's still alive don't worry. Hakkai just has some really good acting skills. I'll just stay up here until it is safe for me to come down. Bye-bye!
