Written for the Bingo Card Drabble Competition (character - Rose Weasley and book - The Particular Sadness Of Lemon Cake) and the Snakes and Ladders challenge (character Albus Potter).

"Rose," Albus called up the stairs. "Aren't you going to come down? Everyone's here."

"In a minute," Rose called back.

Half an hour later Albus still hadn't seen his best friend. He had a suspicion as to what she was doing and if he was right she wouldn't be down until she was done.

He walked up the steps and poked his head into her room. "I knew it!" he said.

"Knew what?" Rose asked, barely looking up.

"You're reading."

"Oh, yes. The Particular Sadness Of Lemon Cake. It is really quite interesting. It's about thing girl who has magical powers but they're nothing like our magic, Al. Isn't it amazing the things muggles come up with? Who would think of a girl who can tell what people are feeling by eating the food they've made?"

"Is that what she can do?" Albus asked with forced enthusiasm. "Sounds very interesting. Now do you think you could take a break to come down and see your family? They're all missing you."

"But I'm almost done. Only fifty pages left."

"Only!"

"Yes it shouldn't take me more than half an hour."

"Come on, Rose, you can read later," Albus begged. When Rose still didn't look convinced he added, "Aunt Audrey made that muggle dessert you love."

"Brownies?" Rose asked, finally taking her eyes off her book.

Albus nodded.

"Well, I guess I could come down for a little while..."
