Hiruiseki: Soul of Glass
By Take (March 1999)
Ano…sumimasen? Watashi wa Hiruiseki degozaimasu. Dozo yoroshiku onegai tashimasu. I'd bow, but I'm currently suspended from a cord around Hiei- kun's neck, sumimasen.
I don't have anything to complain about, not really; I'm kept nice and warm against Hiei-kun's chest, and I'm not abused. I've got a pleasant life, compared to those of my colleagues Rose Whip and Kokuryuu. I get jostled occasionally when Hiei-kun gets into one of his numerous fights, true, but he takes good care of me, making sure that my cord is in good condition. In return I try to glow as brightly as I can, especially on those occasions that Hiei-kun takes me out to look at me.
I used to belong to Yukina-san, but when she was saying goodbye to Hiei- kun, she presented me to him. I went willingly; I like my new master - he helped save Yukina-san, so that's a point in his favor. He's also her twin brother, just in case you didn't know - another plus.
I know he loves her, but I don't understand why he doesn't tell her! I can't say anything, so all I can do is watch as they dance around each other. I'm sure Yukina-san knows who Hiei-kun is - she's a smart girl, if a little innocent. She only wants Hiei-kun to be happy, and by giving me to him, I have a suspicion that she was telling him, in her own subtle way, that she knew.
Recently, Hiei-kun's been spending a lot of time with Kurama-kun. From what Yukina-san has said, Kurama-kun is really the infamous Youko Kurama, and Hiei-kun's best friend - but personally, I think they're more than that. I know Hiei-kun likes Kurama-kun a lot, though he doesn't say or show it around the others. When it's only him and Kurama-kun though, he's much more relaxed and open. I hope things work out between Hiei-kun and Kurama-kun; Hiei-kun deserves happiness.
