Tree at my window, window tree,
My sash is lowered when night comes on;
But let there never be a curtain drawn
Between you and me.
Vague dream-head lifted out of the ground,
And thing next most diffuse to cloud,
Not all your light tongues talking aloud
Could be profound.
But, tree, I have seen you taken and tossed,
And if you have seen me when I slept,
You have seen me when I was taken and swept
And all but lost.
That day she put our heads together,
Fate had her imagination about her,
Your head so much concerned with outer,
Mine with inner, weather.

Welcome. Let me introduce myself; I am the tree that is outside Shuuichi's window. I stand guard over Shuuichi - or Kurama, as he is known - and his family. Oh, Kurama does not know of me, of course, for all his skill with plants.
I have been watching over the Minamino family for a long time now, and I must say, life has certainly become more interesting since Kurama joined my family. The household is filled with excitement now, especially when Kurama's friends stop by - one in particular.
Time is immaterial to a tree like me; all I know is that in this 'Hiei', Kurama found the kindred soul he had been searching for for apparently a long time before coming to the Ningenkai.
I did not approve of the small one at first; he was a hostile fellow, and was extremely rude to Kurama - the next time he showed up at my youko's window, I almost dumped him off my branch. But Kurama seemed to be glad to see him, and was determined to gain Hiei's friendship - children can be so stubborn at times.
I noticed that Hiei began to stop by my house more and more - and Kurama always welcomed him. I began to see Hiei in a different light; he was not nearly as cold and indifferent as he pretended to be. He cared much more than he let on - especially for Kurama, so it was no surprise to me when my little redhead's feelings underwent a change.
When they finally got together - and believe you me, it was *not* easy - it was the best thing that could have happened to either of them. Now the only problem is my 'prime viewing spot'. Those two; if I was not a tree, I would be squirming at their choice of pastimes. Children these days. Honestly.
Kurama is happy, I am elated to say - he is practically walking on air. Hiei had better not hurt my little boy; he will find himself on his rear faster than he can blink.
