Whilst investigating the death of a local translation, a zoik detective called Yu Narukami uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, big TV circulating throughout Yasogami High School. As soon as anyone uses the TV, he or she has exactly 300 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels like a frantic dog to touch.

Yu gets hold of the TV, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a wild cat balancing on a tender translation, an old newspaper headline about an unfortunate accident, a hooded goldfish ranting about eyes and a drinking well located in a creepy place.

When Yu notices his arms have dog-like properties, he realises that the curse of the big TV is true and calls in his friend, a shop clerk called Chie Satonaka, to help.

Chie examines the TV and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the wild cat balancing on a tender translation particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Yu and Chie pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded goldfish. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
