"What are you thinking about?"
Ahsoka turned to see Rex had joined her on the observation deck. "Nothing," she lied.
Rex raised an eyebrow and sat beside her. "You sure?"
"I said it was nothing!"
"Well, now I know it's something." Ahsoka sighed, and Rex looked down to see her staring at him, biting her lips. Then, suddenly, those lips were on his and his brain was short-circuiting, spouting random bursts of Basic and Mando'a even as he kissed her back. Ahsoka – Commander – Al'verde – No way – Nu draar – What? – Meg? – Me'bana?
He pulled away first, desperate for air. "Not that I'm complaining…," he breathed, fingertips brushing her face as their noses touched, "but what was that for?"
"Comparison," Ahsoka murmured, stroking the side of his neck with her thumb.
"And?" Rex teased, nudging her a little.
Ahsoka gave a breathy chuckle. "You're better on all accounts."
That was all the invitation he needed to continue.
