If Everyone Cared

Authors Note: this was inspired by the youtube video Daniel & Vala - If Everyone Cared. Set after Unending when Daniel and Vala are in a relationship
Daniel and Vala were leaning up against a tree, outside in the woods on the outskirts of Colorado Springs watching the stars appear in the sky.
"So is that the Pegasus galaxy?" asked Vala
"No that is a satellite," Daniel said pointing up at the sky at a star. "That is the Pegasus galaxy."
"Oh," said Vala as she leaned her head on Daniel's shoulder, he responded by putting his arm around her. "Will I ever get to go back there, to Atlantis?" she asked
"Only if you promise not to steal any thing." Daniel said turning his head and smiling at Vala. "Or if they decide to let me go, I'll bring you with me," Vala smiled.
"You know I never dreamed that I would be with someone like you, ever?"
"A sexy alien space pirate?"
"Well…more like a sexy, smart, funny, wonderful, alien member of SG1?"
"That works to I guess," said Vala shrugging.
"You know if everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied. If everyone shared and swallowed their pride, would we see the day with nobody dieing?"
"I don't know," said Vala "Maybe if they loved like you and me."
"Well amen I am alive," Daniel said
"Well after all the times you have died, I say you have the right to say that." They watched as the fireflies started to come out and dance around and it stared to grow darker.
"When ever I look up at the sky or go through the Stargate, I realize how small we are.
"Well the universe is infinite," said Vala they smiled at each other and kissed quickly. "You know this conversation has been like that song…damm...what was it called?"
"yeah I know the song," Daniel racked his brain, "we were listing to it in the car that's what got me going on this… its by Dimeback maybe?"
"Dollarback?"
"Pennyback?"
"Fifty cent?"
"Fifty cent?" Daniel looked at Vala confused "Fifty cent is a rapper; the song is definably not rap, it is so much better than that."
"Sorry just trying to help," said Vala
"Oh well," Daniel said, holding Vala tighter he kissed her hair. Daniel looked at his watch. "We should get back." He said
"Oh come on Daniel, are first night off and you want to go back to the base?"
"Why what did you have in mind?" asked Daniel "We already went out to eat, came out here,"
"I was thinking of going to the grocery store, pick up some desert." Vala said innocently.
"Why?" Daniel said now suspicious.
"I wanted to pick up somethings,"
"Like what?" Daniel asked
"Well some, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, those funky flavored condoms things you humans use…" Daniel got up and started walking towards the truck acting mad.
"Time to go Vala," said Daniel
"What? What did I say?" Vala got into the passenger side of the car and buckled her seatbelt and Daniel started driving into town. He stopped at a well light store.
"Why are we stopping here?" asked Vala
"Didn't you have a shopping list?" asked Daniel and he smiled at her, Vala squealed,
"We are going to have so much fun tonight!"
