Who Knew?
by What-a-sick-masochistic-lion
Idea is sort of from Llama Mama23...I read her story, and this popped into my head.
I was rifling through Edward's CDs again, looking for Now! 26. I wanted to dance with him again to a certain song. I had heard it on the way home from Port Angeles with Jessica after the first hallucination of Edward's voice.
I found the CD, and popped it in again. I went to number 12.
Edward appeared in the room without me asking.
"Yes?"
"I want to dance again. I heard this song on my way home with Jessica the first time I heard your voice...That...time." I hand my head down.
"Okay." This time, he pressed play. We started to sway.
You took my hand,
You showed me how.
You promised me,
You'd be around.
Uh huh.
That's right.
I took your words,
And I believed
In everything
You said to me.
Yeah huh.
That's right.
I didn't dare look up at Edward's face.
"I love you," I whispered, and lay my head on his chest.
If someone said three years from now,
You'd be long gone,
I'd stand up and punch them out.
Cause they're all wrong,
I know better.
'Cause you said forever,
And ever.
Who knew?
I was quietly singing along, remembering that night in the car.
Remember when,
We were such fools?
And so convinced,
And just too cool?
Oh no,
No no.
I wish I could touch you again,
I wish I could still call you a friend.
I'd give anything.
Edward rested his head on top of mine. I could feel him humming along.
When someone said count your blessings now,
'fore they're long gone,
I guess I just didn't know how.
I was all wrong.
They knew better,
Still you said forever,
And ever.
Who knew?
They had all said that he would leave. But he came back. That makes a difference.
Yeah yeah.
I'll keep you locked in my head, (My head)
Until we meet again.
Until we,
Until we meet again.
And I won't forget you my friend.
What happened?
My favorite chorus started.
If someone said three years from now,
You'd be long gone,
I'd stand up and punch them out.
Cause they're all wrong and,
That last kiss,
I'll cherish,
Until we meet again.
And time makes
It harder
I wish I could remember
But I keep
Your memory
You visit me in my sleep
My darling
Who knew
My darling
My darling
Who knew
My darling
I miss you
My Darling
Who Knew
Who knew
When I looked up at Edward, he looked like he could cry.
"They were all right, weren't they?" he asked, refering to everyone saying that he would leave me.
"But you came back. That changes it. That changes everything." He smiled. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
Heh. More fluffiness.
