A.N.: This has been in my head for gosh knows how long! I've been trying to write for my other stories, but I keep writing drabbles because (one) I have no life, and (two) this is stuck in my head! Enjoy? –Anna.
I don't even know whose P.O.V. this is!
'Oh Gosh,' thought Lily. 'Where the hell is the mail? I have to know how we did in the World Series.' Over the summer, Lily had spent time with her cousin Liza in New York. Liza was a crazy person when it came to baseball, and the Yankees were her entire life. Lily had become just as obsessed, and Liza had been writing her almost every day about the games, but the World Series came up, and the Yankees were playing the Red Socks. Lily cringed at the thought of the Red Socks winning, just then, her beautiful owl came through one of the high windows towards her. The letter was addressed to: "Lily-Delilah," meaning it was definitely from Liza, being that she was the only person who ever used Lily's middle name. Lily's finger slipped under the tape of the letter, opening it. Two words were written on a single slip of parchment: "WE WON!" Lily let out a scream. James Potter ran to her from across the room.
"What's wrong Lily?" He shouted.
"We won!" She smiled. James relaxed his muscles.
"Who won what?"
"Baseball, James, it's a muggle thing, don't worry about it." She smiled again and flitted away.
"Hey James!" Sirius said, smirking. After a minute without a reply from James, Sirius waved his hand in front of his best friend's face. "Helloooo!! Earth to James!"
"Huh?" James snapped his head up immediately.
"What were you thinking about just now?" Sirius asked, a glint in his eye, "you look a hell of a lot like you do when you have a plan."
"Oh," James responded, "I do. Library, now, go get Remus please." The two boys split off, already on a mission. The three boys were in the library for an hour, looking through encyclopedia after encyclopedia about Muggle things until they finally found baseball.
"I found it!" Remus cried, victorious. James read over his shoulder.
"The most famous teams are the Red Socks…" He didn't bother to keep reading, he went online (yes, I am aware this makes no sense. Sorry) and ordered a lot of Red Socks things. Three days later, when the packaging had arrived, James decked out the entire common room with Red Socks paraphernalia, including himself. Lily walked in, and James yelled "surprise!"
Lily cringed and gagged a little, looking around the room at her arch nemesis's labeling. "Take it off! Now!" She yelled at him.
"Wow, Lils, you never even liked me, and now you want me to take off my clothes?" He smirked, and began unbuttoning his shirt.
"That's not even what I meant!" She ran out of the room. He followed her, and when he finally caught up he pushed her against the wall, leaning in very close.
"Lily," he breathed. "Tell me what you mean." She choked, unable to speak. She just mouthed for him to get rid of the Jersey he was wearing. He unbuttoned it, and she pushed it off of his shoulders.
"Much better," she sighed.
"But they're such a good team!" He protested.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!
"Fine then! Show me how good they are!" And he pushed her against the wall harder, kissing her so fiercely it almost hurt. There was a crazy kind of electrical fire burning in Lily. Her veins pulsed loudly, her heart pounding at the speed of light. She broke the kiss for a minute, looking at James and smiling. She realized that there was a fine line between love and hate, and she'd never really hated him, just tried really hard. Sirius walked out of the common room, looked at them for a minute, chuckled, and walked back the way he came.
A.N.: I'm sorry this was bad, but now it's out of my head. Review anyway? Even if you did hate this? Anna
