Stargaze

"Isn't it odd?"

"What's odd, Granger?"

"Oh, you know…you, me, Astronomy Tower, stars."

"There's nothing odd about it…we just both felt like some fresh air in the middle of the night."

"Yes, but that's strange too, Malfoy…I didn't know ferrets liked midnight walks."

"Maybe ferrets do, but I don't. Insomnia."

"Why don't you just take a sleeping potion?"

"I don't want to dream."

"Why not? Dreams are what make us human."

"It's not dreams I mind, it's the nightmares."

"Hmmm…I think the nightmares are worth it."

"Worth what?"

"Finding the single perfect dream."

"Have you found it yet, Granger?"

"Almost. I touched it once. It made me cry."

"A nightmare, then."

"No, it was just too beautiful to laugh about."

….

….

"I can't believe I'm out here with a Mudblood."

"Why don't you just go inside then, Malfoy?"

"Because this is the closest I can get to the stars. You should leave."

"I won't."

"Stubborn, aren't we? Why are you out here anyway, Granger?"

"I like to think about jumping."

"What?"

"Crazy, isn't it?"

"Yes…I never would have guessed that Know-it-all Granger was suicidal…"

"Oh, but I'm not."

"Come on Granger, you just said you thought of hurling yourself off the Astronomy Tower."

"Have you ever actually looked over the edge, Malfoy?"

"Well-"

"Just answer the question."

"But-"

"A simple yes or no."

"No."

"Then come and look…"

"There's nothing there, Granger. It's just the school grounds."

"Really?"

"That's all I can see."

"Don't you feel anything?"

"No…only vertigo."

"I feel something. I feel like if I could just jump of the edge, then something would happen. I would fly. I would touch the stars. I would become the wind."

"And then you would hit the bottom."

"Yes."

"And you would be dead."

"Yes."

"And no one would care."

"Probably…"

"Why did you stick to Potter and Weasely all that time, all those years, Granger?"

"A fear of falling. I didn't want to be friendless."

"Are you now?"

"No. I'm not scared anymore. And you, Malfoy? Are you scared?"

"Of what?"

"Of hitting the bottom."

"Yes…I'm not a Gryffindor, stupidly insisting on being brave."

"This has nothing to do with bravery, Malfoy."

"But what if it hurts? What if-"

"It's worth the flight."

"Maybe...Teach me, Granger?"

"Teach you what?"

"To fly."

"All right…take my hand…"

A/N: Too...much...fluff...can't...hardly...breathe! As you can see, the OOC-ness of Hermione and Draco in this is killing me. But I just came up with this, and having them in character would just ruin it. I would really like some feedback on the all-dialouge formatting, so please review!
