"Entering normal space in two minutes fifteen seconds." The soft voice of the modified computer alerted the occupants of the Spittle Runner, though with Tak's meticulous nature, there was no need for the alert. Beside her, MiMi sat motionless and silent, staring at the multicoloured bands of the warp dimensions. Whether the SIR Unit saw anything beside the obvious chaos was beyond the Irken, and she never could get an answer out of her...positive, negative or otherwise.
MiMi seemed content to be the silent and faithful servant, it seemed, never speaking unless her mistress' life was in great danger. How the robot could remain mute and yet convey any emotion was beyond Tak. She could only assume that she did surprisingly well with the limited resources she had had on Dirt. When MiMi did speak up, her voice had an uncharacteristic, almost perky contralto to it. Sometimes, Tak wondered if the vocoder was malfunctioning.
The computer beeped again, this time reporting reentry in one minute. Tak clutched the single control stick and braced herself for the force of returning to normal space. MiMi did likewise, tightly grasping the sides of the cockpit. The dizzying psychedelic chaos of warp space soon faded into streaking white lines, then slowing to the pinpoint specks of stars. Another successful hyperjump, and Tak estimated that she was almost near the planet where the one Irken who ruined her chances for Invaderhood was to be found.
With a thrust of the guidance stick, Tak sent the Spittle Runner on a direct course for the surface of the blue white world that spun lazily below her. MiMi looked out the armourplast windscreen, searching for active and passive defences the native lifeforms might have left in their homeworld's orbit. Nothing stopped the Irken spacecraft, though, and soon they had landed in a secluded forest clearing.
MiMi leaped out first, searching for any threats to her beloved mistress. With a nod of the SIR Unit's steel head, Tak exited the ship and began to poke around their landing site. Nothing that could harm the Alien vessel or its occupants could be seen, and what little life there was had been scared away by the craft's landing. Tak walked by her faithful servant, muttering. "Why don't you speak up every once in a while, MiMi?" The robot simply stared at the nearly forgotten Irken, contemplating why she really didn't speak up every once in a while. MiMi put the feeling down as having something to do with her uncomfortably shy and demure personality...
