Finally an idea! I couldn't think of anything for a while there! This is an AU story so everyone is human and is not all magical. Sorry if that's what you wanted to see! So, here is A Battle of Fears: Prologue.
We've been trapped here for how many days now? 9? I can't believe how we got into this mess. Ah, but I am getting ahead of myself. You're probably wondering what is going on. Well, this is how it came to how my friend and I got trapped into this accursed house.
My best friend Kushi and I were walking home from a day at the mall when it began to pour. Looking around we saw that our college dorm was still quite far away. Right around the corner was an empty house that seemingly looked abandoned. Boy, were we wrong.
Running toward the house, we went through the open doorway that alas, had no door. Taking the lead I went into what seemingly was a living room, I went to a part of the room that did not have a hole in the ceiling. Kushi, who was following close behind, put her bags under the small table located in the middle of the room.
Walking off toward the corner where I was huddled in my jeans and T-shirt, she began to question me, "Are you sure this is safe Ammy? It looks like this place could collapse any second..."
"We never would have made it back to the dorm in this thunderstorm. It might not be safest but it'll do its job Kushi, don't worry," I said with a simple shrug of my shoulders. "Issun, Waka, and Susanoo might wonder where we are for a bit but we can just text them and say we're fine."
Looking a little skeptical the black haired girl wearing jeans and a sweatshirt sighed,"You seem to always have a plan for everything. No wonder how you got into college a year early."
Yes, I was only 18, but I skipped 2nd grade. Wiping my dark hair that had one natural silvery white streak in it aside I flashed a smile and looked at the sky. It had the appearance of a swirling dark abyss, nothing like a sky. "Look at the sky Kush... That doesn't look normal..."
Taking a glance up Kushi thought the same as I a second before. She took out her phone and saw there was no signal at all. Mine was the same. Forgetting about our stuff we ran towards the open doorway.
Nothing.
That was what was outside of the door. The same as the sky. A dark opening to an unknown realm. That is where this torture began.
