Admiral Leonard McCoy recording

As I stand here, in front of the grave of my good friend, Jim Kirk, I can not help but wonder, was Khan right? Is revenge really a dish best served cold? Was he just drawing it out and all?

Maybe Jim thinking of Khan as a menace was wrong. No matter what happened, the cold dish of revenge would come later. The dish grows cold with the passing of time. That should be a new Klingon proverb.

It came, big time. And it hurt Jim deeply. Spock's death hurt him. He once told me that it had felt like a part of him had died to in that radiation-saturated chamber.

And then, when Jim was pulled into the Nexus, Khan's revenge was reaching his climax. Being smashed against the rocks -- that was Jim's "glorious" finale, and the climax of Khan's revenge.

Now, as I gaze upon his simple tomb of stone, I must wonder. Was Khan right? Was this his revenge?

Is revenge really a dish best served cold?
