Simon ran his hand through Nathan's soft curls, debating in his head what exactly was going on between them. "Were they boyfriends?" Simon had been so sure that he wasn't gay but there was something about Nathan, he was so hopelessly happy with Nathan around even though he was positive that Nathan didn't feel the same way. Simon didn't care. He loved having someone to talk to, someone to hold. He felt as if he could tell Nathan anything, even though he knew he couldn't. Regardless of whether Nathan was with Simon or not, he still felt that it was necessary to put him down. Everyone else only saw him as cocky, but Simon knew that Nathan felt he couldn't trust anyone, especially since his Mum kicked him out, but Simon was slowly bringing Nathans walls of defence down.

Nathan trusted Simon. More than he trusted most people. He could say that he trusted Simon more than he trusted anyone, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration. Sure, he teased Simon, but Simon knew all his insecurities and faults, and he accepted him for the cocky prick that he was. Nathan would always be thankful of Simon's accepting nature, because no one else accepted him. Simon was the only true friend Nathan had, besides Kelly that is, and Kelly constantly pointed out his flaws and he couldn't trust her to keep anything to herself. "Was he gay?" Did he even have to label what they had. He liked Simon's company. Craved it even, But did that mean that they were together? Nathan sighed contentedly as Simon stroked his hair sleepily. They didn't need a label, Nathan decided. Because what they had, it was perfect.

Nathan pressed his forehead against Simons chest and whispered , "What is this, Simon? What is it we have?" Simon looked at Nathan and stroking his cheek, whispered, "I don't know, but whatever it is, I never want it to end."Nathan stared at Simon with his clear green eyes and in his head, he thought of how much he would have laughed at himself six months ago. In bed with the weird kid, whom he'd called a freak, a melon fucker. Nathan gave a soft chuckle which roused Simon from his own musings. "What is it?" Simon asked. "Nothing, I'm just glad to be here." For the first time, Simon pressed his lips to Nathans. For only a second, two seconds. He pressed their cheeks together. "So am I."

"What were you thinking?"Asked Nathan, his curiosity getting the better of him. Simon smiled at Nathan's impatience and kissed him again. Nathan scowled impatiently. Simons smile widened. "I was just thinking, how strange it is, how strange we are, you and I. Not exactly the average couple are we?"

"Are we a couple?" Nathan inquired with genuine curiosity. Simon almost regretted bringing it up. Almost. "What do you think?"Simon asked, not wanting to make as fool of himself and insist that they were, in fact, a couple.

"Well. We're lying in your bed, and we're cuddling and kissing. In my books that makes us a couple. Doesn't it?" replied Nathan confidently. Not wanting to be rejected by Simon, Nathan suddenly found the wall very interesting and refused to look away from it, examining every part while he waited anxiously for Simons reply.

He exhaled a sigh of relief when Simon finally replied. "I guess so." Then, a lot more quietly , "I hope so."he whispered so delicately that he wasn't sure Nathan had heard him, but when Nathan pressed a fleeting kiss to his cheek, he was sure he had.

Simon entwined their fingers and they both feel to sleep, happy.
