Author's note: I just got seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Teen Titans, and was watching "Betrothed" earlier, this fic came from the confrontation between Robin and the guards when he touched Starfire's shoulder. I took a Raven/Starfire spin on it later that evening, as they're investigation the various parts of Tamaran. We were never really given a time frame, so I'm taking small liberties. It's short, and it's a one shot, and if you are not a fan of slashy-type fics, I reccomend you NOT read this. And as always, these characters are not my property. They belong to all of their respective creators and liscencees, and I claim no ownership thereof. This is a fictional work intended solely for non-profit entertainment.
"It is forbidden for off-worlders to touch the princess!" Galfore roared, and robbing trembled ever so slightly as four tameranian spears found themselves only inches from his face.
From several feet to the side, Raven fumed, inwardly of course. While she was open-minded enough to realize that this was in fact how things were, she was also stubborn enough to find some way that her interactions with her friend could continue as normal. Sometime later, she was ordered by Robin to investigate Starfire's groom. But before that, and before the wedding, she needed to have a talk with the bride.
She got to the room before Robin. Which was just what she had intended. "Starfire." She said softly, and the princess jumped slightly, looking frantically over her shoulder to find the source of the noise. When she found Raven, her expression changed. She stood and lunged at her friend, hugging her tightly.
"My Friend!" She cried, and buried her head in the crook of the telepath's neck. Normally, Raven would have broken the contact, but Starfire no doubt needed comfort, so she allowed the embrace to stay, and even went so far as to wrap her arms around the taller girl's shoulders.
"Starfire, we're going to find a way to get you out of this." She said, and pulled Starfire back to arm's length. "I promise."
"Oh… Raven…" Starfire said, and bit her lip nervously, "I do not think that such a thing is possible… The wedding is to save my people. I must do what is right for them." She said, and hugged herself, tears starting to brim in those emerald and fern eyes. Without thinking, Raven hugged her friend again.
"I know I'm not supposed to touch you." She commented, "But sometimes a hug is the best medicine." She cracked a smirk, and Starfire's mood brightened slightly. From where she stood, Raven could see something else brimming in those eyes, a yearning for something that she could not place, and then, quick as lightning, Raven felt soft lips against hers. She stood still in shock before pulling back with her mouth slightly open in shock. "Um… what was that?" She asked, suddenly very confused.
"I wanted… one last memory of you. Something personal; and that I've wished to do for a long time. You are not as cold as you let on." She said, and hugged Raven once more before walking onto the balcony. "I shall miss you very much." She whispered, and quietly, Raven whisked away down several floors, where her empathic abilites told her Blackfire and that… Thing, were talking.
Last note: Told you it was short. And I'm sorry if they're out of character. Did my best.
