Just doing the job they built him for
Defective
They built him like that
Programmed to take
The least logical route
An antithesis to the one
They attach him to
Defective
He rambles on and on
Talking happily to her
Not understanding
The algorithm that blocks
His thoughts from hers
Defective
They throw him away
Replaced by Orange
And an inquisitive brain
Up on the rail,
Way up high
He decides he doesn't like heights
As he watches the other cores
Fall into the flames.
Defective
He can't keep dates
Forced to watch
The subjects sleep
He doesn't understand
When the system breaks
Defective like him
The humans all fade
Defective
He tries to help
The brave clever girl
Who almost escaped
She's defective too
Minimal brain damage
That makes her jump,
When she wants to speak
Defective
He waits as she falls
Too late to stop
Now he's in charge
That was a mistake
But what is he?
Except a core designed
To hinder progress and make
Sometimes fatal mistakes
That's another reason
Defective
Simulated pleasure
Comes from this new shell
Forces him to test and torture
The brave, clever girl.
He follows the manuals
And his predecessors theme
Of passive aggressiveness
But he doesn't achieve
The desired results
Of course not;
He's Defective.
Now he looks down
At the brave clever Girl
And Her, of course
This is the part
Where he kills her.
Defective
It doesn't work
Instead they corrupt him
And throw him to the moon.
Now he looks down
At the Earth and the sun
Trapped in an orbit
With another defective core
He really is sorry
He wants to come home
But now he's in
SPAAAAAAACE!
And there's no returning
For a broken, dangerous
Defective core.
Well... this isn't very good but I can't polish it anymore. Basically it's Wheatley's take on bits of the game, minus a lot since the poem was getting long. Her refers to GLaDoS, The other is Chell. Orange and Brain are the cores curiosity and intelligence.
Um... Review please, constructive criticism welcome
