A/N: Gotta love those missing 3 years in Dharma we never saw, if only for all the ideas we can imagine happened for these characters...

It's a regular evening in the little yellow La Fleur house. James sits with his book, Juliet sits with hers, they both sip on wine and sneak glances when the other isn't looking. Almost two years together and they still act like teenagers sometimes; it keeps things fresh and fun.

Juliet is reading Carrie for the millionth time. She's getting to her favorite part when there is an interruption from her snarky, Southern companion.

"You tasered me."

She lays her book in her lap, utterly confused. James often says some head-scratching sentences, but this was new. "What?"

His glasses have slipped down his nose and his eyes are dancing. He's been caught in a memory, and is explaining it to her in his own way. "The first time we met. You tasered me, Blondie. An' I think you enjoyed it."

"Oh. James, you know I was under orders," Juliet excuses, feeling a bit embarrassed and ashamed. Wrapped up in Dharma bliss she'd been able to ignore their bumpy past.

Apparently James hasn't, or at least also had until now. "Yeah, drinkin' the Others' koolaid, I know, I know. Still don't change the fact that ya tasered me."

She lifts a brow at his attitude. "Well… if I remember correctly, later on I tried to be nice and give you some water and you dumped it out right in front of me." Turnabout is fair play.

(Neither of them mentions that after, he went and kissed Kate. And then got in a shitload of trouble. Or that the only way to get him to stop was to hold the erstwhile fugitive at gunpoint. These things aren't so important anymore, between their days at work, evenings dancing around the kitchen making dinner, and nights spent playing and laughing and loving.)

James has set his book down, is leaning forward. "Well, Ghandi, at that point I didn't realize what you were up to."

"It was still a bit rude, James." She crosses her arms over her chest, gives him her best cool stare.

"Ha!" He guffaws, flying back in his seat. "As if taserin' a man ain't…" he mumbles.

They allow a few moments of silence to pass. Then James allows a satisfied smile to cross his face. "I forgive you for taserin' me," he says in a superior voice, playful.

"I'm glad that's out of the way now, I was terribly worried we'd never get past it," Juliet deadpans. She keeps her tone even as she offers, "Can I make it up to you?"

James smirks, dimples on full display. He gives her that look, the one she knows means I want you right now, baby, and there ain't nothin' that's gonna stop me. She likes that look, a lot.

"I've got some ideas."

As he scoops her up and carries her off to their bedroom, him growling and her laughing, she truly wonders if he only brings these things up so that she'll owe him something.

She isn't complaining.
