i love your eyes
when they smile
but i hate your mouth
when it cries for me

She was walking in the rain in the streets of small town, England. She was soaked to the skin, having left her slicker in her apartment. But she didn't feel the cold. She was too stuck on a memory.

was having you

Her mind reflected back on him. Blond hair. Gray eyes. The best eyes she'd ever seen. They'd make her go speechless. But his mouth.

"Mudblood."

It killed her everytime. Until he changed. Until they changed. The war made every one think. Every one realize. In the weeks before the war, they'd grown closer. On the night before, the two became one, intimately.

i'll read my books like they're friends

He died the next day. She'd been on medication every since she went to see the muggle shrink. She only ever took them when she truly needed them. Normally she found solace in her best friends, books. But tonight was one of those nights. She was going to the diner that they'd finally talked in. On the anniversary of his death. She thought to herself, "Five years ago today, he died."

Five years ago…

She walked in the door, out of the rain. She grabbed a table, opening the menu. She was browsing the soup and sandwich combinations when she heard him clearing his throat. She peeked her eyes over her menu, praying that wasn't the same boy she thought it was. But alas, she was correct in her assumption. He was sitting in the next booth, on the opposite side, so he faced her.

"Hello, Granger," he said, putting out the stub of his cigarette in the ash tray.

"Don't talk to me, Malfoy."

"Oh, someone's cranky."

"Wouldn't you know…"

"I think I would, Granger."

Hermione got up to leave, but he was faster than her, and had her arm before she'd taken two steps.

"Can I talk to you about something?" he whispered, the fear that was hidden in his eyes now apparent in his voice. To this day she didn't know why she stayed. Maybe it was the way he looked. Maybe it was the fact that at any moment they could be killed by a Death Eater hell-bent on killing them. But she did. And he changed. Became an Order spy. And her lover.

i miss you as a friend
i miss my favorite kid

She sat in the same booth, her cup of coffee slowly cooling and the tears slowly spilling down her face. She looked a mess, her hair every where, her eyes quickly becoming puffy. But she didn't care, because the one person she did care about was gone.

don't you remember when we took that trip
to the white sands?

They had gone for the weekend to the beach, as a sort of final break before the war. It was there that he kissed her. Under the overcast skies threatening to pour, he kissed her. The kiss itself was nothing to brag about, but the emotions that came with it were ones that don't come often. They spoke of longing and sorrow, passion and forgiveness. It was love.

all the things you said to me
even if you die
i want you to know
you're my best mistake

He had told her, in the morning light. He told her just in case he didn't come back to her.

"I love you," was all that was spoken between the two. It was an understanding that there was a chance they wouldn't return. He kissed her, and left. Her tears were the only sounds. Twelve hours later, after the fighting and bloodshed, she found his body. She grabbed his hand, cool to the touch. She whispered her sentiments in his ear, hoping and praying that somewhere he could hear her. She then broke down, crying. He tears fell to his cheeks, so it looked as if he were crying too.
