Kuroko no Basuke – It's a Promise
Prologue
Her breathing was ragged and her whole body was shaking due to the horrible nightmare she just lived through. It wasn't the first one she ever had, but it was the first one that haunted her for a long time until now. Even though it never showed in the same way twice, few bits, few pieces were always included. Bits, pieces she would give everything for to forget.
"In this world, winning is everything. Winners are validated and losers are denied. Until now, I've never lost at anything, and I won't in the future. Since I always win, I'm always right. If you oppose me… I'll kill you, no matter who you are."
"Do what you have to do."
"You'll never call me by my first name, will you?"
"Don't worry about her, that's a usual thing for her to do. We shouldn't concern ourselves with strangers. I will crush those who are too weak."
"The only one who can beat me… Is me."
"I will show you that there are things more important than victory! Winning isn't everyting. I can't stand anyone of you looking down on the sport we all used to love. And I won't give up until I can see all of you enjoying to play basketball again. I'll bring your high and mighty asses back down to earth. Consider this a declaration of war!"
"Please take care of them. I'll take care of my father in the meantime. I'll come back for you. It's a promise."

For those who might wonder: This is the second time I posted this story, formerly named 'GoM's Coach~'. I started writing it almost three years ago and just recently had the wish to continue the story. But I wasn't quite satisfied with the way I had written it and, therefore, edited and changed it heavily. I hope that I will be able to update it at least once every week. And I hope that you will enjoy the story as it goes on!
