The streets were filled with fallen leaves and families. Children darted between their parents, racing to the nearest door in their ridiculous costumes. Halloween had always seemed pointless to him, and the young people's excitement only made him more agitated. Comforted by the fact that it would be all over soon, and he would finally win the girl whose heart he desired from the first day, brightened his outlook considerably. Two lives would end tonight, and a new era would begin. He would lead that new era, and alongside him would be the most beautiful girl the world had ever seen.
