Daihama sat alone in the cafeteria, just eating and not bothering anyone when some of the more popular kids came up to his table.
"Looks like the foods agreeing with you, Fatty."
"Look at the pig eat his slop, ew!" Daihama tried to ignore the remarks as he always did but this time he couldn't. Tears shed down his face.
"Oh, the fatty's crying, why don't you eat if you're so sad?" Then they laughed until a cold voice cut through their mirth.
"If you morons are done making fun of my friend, perhaps you have something to say to me?" The bullies turned around and were faced with a pair of gleaming golden orbs. The glare was enough to send them running.
"I see you got here first anata." Kazuki said from beside Tokiko. Instantly the girl's face turned beet red and she turned towards her boyfriend. Mahiro was beside her brother giving one of her usual smiles.
"Don't call me that in public, Kazuki!"
"It's so cute though, Tokiko!" Mahiro said excitedly. Then she saw Daihama wiping tears from his eyes. She sat down next to him and gave him a huge hug. "Cheer up, Dai-kun, you're an amazing person." Daihama's face matched Mahiro's hair.
"Arigatou, Mahiro-chan."
"And if those jerks pick on you again, I'll rip their guts out." Tokiko exclaimed.
"Anata, let's go." Kazuki grabbed Tokiko's hand and started to lead her away.
"Kazuki, what are you doing?" In reply Kazuki pointed towards Mahiro and Tokiko noticed that she had the same loving look in her eyes that Kazuki gave her. "Okay. Cheer up Daihama."
"Arigatou Tokiko-san." Tokiko gave her friend a small smile and followed Kazuki out of the cafeteria.
"Dai-kun, did you want to go to the carnival after school?"
"I don't think Okakura would want to go after what happened last time."
"No silly, just you and me."
"I'd like that very much Mahiro-chan."
"Great, so I'll meet you outside and we'll walk there, okay?"
"Alright." Mahiro then pecked Daihama on the cheek and ran off to chat with her friends.
Kazuki and Tokiko watched from the outside window.
"I hope they're happy with each other." Tokiko remarked.
"They'll do fine, anata." Tokiko blushed and was about to tell him off when Kazuki placed a finger to her lips. "No more talking, let's just enjoy the moment." Then he kissed her and Tokiko found herself not caring that most of the school could see them. Eventually they broke apart.
"I love you Kazuki."
"Good, I'd hate to be kissing someone who didn't love me." Kazuki chuckled at the little joke but then noticed that Tokiko was glaring at him. "Sorry anata, it was a joke, honest." And then the rest of the students laughed as Kazuki raced away from his enraged girlfriend.
