Asking Her to Love Him

By: Naught-But-Mortal

Disclaimer: Castle=not owned by that one gal masquerading as the above penname. Also, she doesn't know Notting Hill. Just sayin'.

Summary: Another drabble. Castle longs to flesh out that kiss, but he's afraid she'd never feel the same.

It slips into silence, that little discussion about the kiss he wishes they'd had. "It was just a distraction," his heart tries to remind his head as he thinks on the matter. Turns out his heart's a wuss. It is fearful, terrified of being stomped on by what he knew her cold pragmatic explanation would be.

"I'm not a girl," he swears to himself as he ponders the repercussions of his wanting to know, but, in the end, he just wants the girl he loves to love him back.

Damn that Julia Roberts with her "I'm just a girl' speech.

"I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her." –Notting Hill
