This story takes place after "The Seige of the north" events.
It was a harsh, stormy day in the Avatar world. It was only a few hours after Aang, Katara, and Sokka said their goodbyes to everyone at the North Pole. Katara was lying down, thinking about what Master Pakku said about going to the South Pole, and about what was going to happen in the future. Katara then asked Aang,"Hey Aang, do you think that everyone at the North Pole will be alright?" Aang replied,"I'm sure they will. I doubt the Fire Nation will go back there soon."
Sokka, was lying down on his stomach, thinking about Princess Yue, who had recently passed away by sacraficing herself to become the new moon spirit. He had wished that he could have saved her from that fate, but Sokka knew that it was the only way the moon spirit could be revived. As the rain came down harder, Sokka's tears began to pour down harder. He had loved her so much.
Aang, was sitting up thinking about his whole life and how he could have prevented all of this from happening. Aang said to Katara,"Katara, this is all my fault. I shouldn't have ran away." Katara said,"No Aang, its not. Things were meant to be this way. If you hadn't left, you would have been killed with the rest of the airbenders." Aang then replied,"You told me that before, but... I don't know. I just need some rest." Katara nodded and Aang went to sleep in the midst of a storm.
Appa flew further away from the North Pole that night. The storm had let up that next morning. A couple of days went by, and they saw beautiful land with nice tannish hills and sand, and green grass. They flew by and Aang took notice of it. "What a beautiful view! We are in the Earth Kingdom!" Aang said. Katara replied,"I never knew this side of the Earth Kingdom was this beautiful." Sokka replied,"Eh, it's alright." Katara replied,"How could you say that? Have you seen anything more like this?" Sokka replied,"No I guess not."
The gaang were flying the in the sky when they saw a small village. They landed outside the village with tons of lush green trees and a gate surrounding it. They walked along the trail until they came along the villages gate. An Earth Kingdom guard stopped Aang and said,"Halt! Who are you, and why have you come here?" Aang replied,"I am the Avatar, and me and my friends Sokka and Katara could use a place to stay for the night. The guard replied,"Your the Avatar? Of course you can stay here!" The guard pointed to a small house they could stay in. A few hours later, the gaang was getting ready to go to sleep when the guard asked them all if they needed anything else. They all said they didn't need anything and went to sleep for the night.
