A/N: This is a short little drabble-type thingy I wrote about Ryou remembering Amane.

Do You Know Why The Angels Sing?

He'd been asked before if he believed in angels. He always responded with: "How can I not?" And he would half-smile sadly at the questioning looks he received from his answer.

"Of course I believe in angels. I knew one, once. I heard her sing, I watched her smile, I felt her laugh. I held her as she cried, I stayed with her when she was lonely, I told her silly stories to make her feel better when our lives were falling apart. She was the most important thing in the world to me."

And he'd get sympathetic looks and comforting pats on the back, then be asked when she'd broken up with him.

"What? Oh, no, I'm not talking about a girlfriend. I'm talking about my little sister."

The sympathetic looks would turn to ones of deep sadness, the pats would evolve into tight hugs.

"So if I don't believe in angels, how can I go on, thinking she isn't waiting for me?"

He would look up and smile slightly, seeing something above him that no one else could.

"She was an angel. She was my angel."

A/N: Musical Inspiration: Far From Home by Five Finger Death Punch. I was mostly inspired by the tone and mood of the song more than the lyrics themselves, though some fit rather well.

Please review.
