I've got nothing this time guys. No explanation, no anything, absolutely nothing. Have fun with it.
Dobby's Polka-Dotted Sock
Visit the Moon
He didn't notice the strange noise outside his apartment, and if he had it probably wouldn't have bothered him. But he heard the knock on the door and went to answer it; Bert had gone to the store about a rare paper clip, and if he'd finished that he was probably out on the steps watching the pigeons.
So instead he swung the door open to greet the oddly dressed stranger. A tall man in a suit—something they didn't often see on their street—and long coat, with one of those flower-necklaces they gave out at dances and a funny hat. But he wore a smile and seemed friendly enough.
"Hello?" His voice went slightly up at the end, indicating the question in it since he hadn't been expecting anyone.
"Hello there, I'm the Doctor," the man introduced. He didn't take much notice of the somewhat odd name either. That was a more frequent occurrence on their street.
"Well, hello! I'm Ernie, and this is Rubber Duckie," he greeted.
Squeak Squeak! went Rubber Duckie in his hand.
"Oh right. I had a friend once just like that. Well, he had a little panda. Well, just for a bit anyway, not really sure where it got off to. Might still be onboard…"
His surprise guest trailed off in thought, which Ernie would've been more than happy to leave him to. As it was, however, the man was still standing out in their front hall. "Excuse me, Mr. Doctor?" He inquired politely, and the man blinked down at him in surprise. "Can I help you?"
"Help me?" The man echoed incredulously. "No, no, you've got it all wrong, that's not what I came here for."
"It's not?"
"Nope," was the reply, the 'p' being popped. "I came here to help you."
"Me? What do I need help with?" He'd only been sitting and reading a book with Rubber Duckie.
"Well," his new friend gave a slight shrug with his hands still in his coat pockets. "I'd heard you wanted to see the moon."
Squeak Squeak!
Um, yeah…I'm tired? Eh, I guess sometime while the Doctor was running away from all that dying and such, he decided to give Ernie a hand in his wish to visit the moon. Really have no idea where this came from, aside from the fact that it remains one of my favorite songs from Sesame Street (and I'm weird enough to have favorite songs).
