I had it all, growing up. My twin brother Derek was not only a brother; he was my best friend. And my best friend Brooke? She was amazing. That, and she and Derek were practically married off. We were basically an inch away from being sisters-in-law.
That all changed, though. In one moment, that all changed. Why? Because I realized that Lucas Scott was the one for Brooke Davis, not Derek Sawyer.
At the time when I asked our other best friend who he wanted standing next to him when all of his dreams came true, I was convinced that it was me that loved him. However, that's an entirely different story in itself.
And when he said Brooke? Well, that threw me for a loop. Big time. But as I started thinking about everything that had happened since we became best friends with Lucas, I realized something: Brooke Davis and Lucas Scott loved each other. They had always been there for each other. She was the Cheery to his Broody. They were so opposite yet so similar, and they could make each other more passionate and happier then anyone else I had ever seen.
I knew, in that moment, that I had to do something. Because true love isn't something you can just let pass you by, especially when one person doesn't even know. I couldn't be the person that let that happen.
