Christmas Eve

The stars sparkled in the sky brightly as Taryn sat on the roof of her father's house with her sister right beside her. It had been six years since the family had fallen apart and everything in life was starting to get back together finally.

"Hey kiddos" Both girls looked up to see their dad climbing up the ladder with a smile "shouldn't you be in bed?"

"We should, but its Christmas eve dad. Give us a break" Terri smiled softly as he sat down beside them

"Yes I know. Christmas Eve is one of the few nights you get to stay up as long as you want" their father laughed "We haven't done this in a long time though"

"We thought it was time to start up the tradition again. Even if we don't have Charlie and mom this time" This time it was Taryn. Her gaze was still towards the stars as she spoke "so what did you bring up for us to open this time?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"You always bring up a present for each of us when you come to see us" she smiled "what are they this year?"

"Why not see for yourself?" taking a small Package into her hand Taryn examined it weakly before opening it. "Oh my god dad" she smiled softly

"Like it?"

"Love it!" She practically screamed "so much!" Taryn held onto a small locket with her name engraved on it. "What did you get Terri?"

Terri opened her gift gently and smiled "Same thing, except with my name" She laughed "you really like the twin idea don't you dad?"

"Yah, makes shopping a lot easier" he laughed softly. Getting to her feet taryn walked up to the chair and picked up a gift from underneath it "what is this?" Jack wondered as he handed it to him

"Open it and find out" The girls laughed "think you'll like it"

Jack ripped the present open and found himself looking down at the complete first, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sessions of the Simpson's. "You're the best kids on this planet" He smiled softly

"We know" the girls burst out laughing when their father grabbed hold of them. "We love you dad!"

"I love you too girls" he smiled "Marry Christmas"

"Marry Christmas daddy!" Jack winced. He had two 14 year olds with him and just to bug him they still called him daddy. This was probably the first Christmas they had ever had when they were happy since Charlie's death, and he didn't want to loss that now.
