A/N: Now then, to clear things up. This is my very first story on Sonic. Watching Sonic X inspired me, HOWEVER, this is does NOT take place during any game or series. My twisted way of Sonic :P Lets get started, shall we??

-Chapter One: A Hardy Start-
Standing atop a mountain, our blue hero looks solemnly at his surrounding. A distant breeze drifted across his face, causing his quills to sway at command. Knowing he couldn't stay here very long, he gestured for another running spree. Before he could run at his usual supersonic speed, he noticed something flying his way. The thing was flying quickly; Sonic soon noticed it was a jet plane. Swooshing past his head, Sonic saw the jet fly away. "Not on my watch," Sonic said, grinning sheepishly.
Lunging forward, Sonic ran off, leaving the mountain to crumble slightly. Sonic caught with the jet quickly. "Looks like you're not the fast one anymore, eh?" Sonic asked. The jet suddenly flew faster, flying past him. "Huh, I guess you're challenging me." Sonic muttered. Sonic caught up with it again. "See ya," Sonic said, and with that, he ran at supersonic speed. What felt like hours, Sonic stopped in his tracks. "Quite a run there," A voice said from behind him. Looking behind him, he saw Knuckles approaching him.
"Hey Knuckles, shouldn't be guarding the Master Emerald??" Sonic asked. "I am," Knuckles replied, pointing behind him. There it was, The Master Emerald sitting in its usual place. "Well, think again," Sonic said, pointing to it. Knuckles looked behind him; a certain bat was flying away, with the Master Emerald in her grasp. "ROUGE!!" Knuckles bellowed angrily, running after her. "What knucklehead," Sonic muttered, chuckling. Sonic ran off, heading wherever his speed takes him.
"Rouge!! Give me back the Master Emerald NOW!!" Knuckles shouted, shaking his fist angrily. Rouge looked behind her. "Oh hey there, Knuckie, but no can do, I need this gorgeous gem for my own good reason." Rouge greeted, landing in front of him. "Oh really?? For what reason is that??" Knuckles asked. "To add to my collection, of course!" Rouge said, laughing. Knuckles grabbed the other side of the emerald. "Not while I'm supposed to guard it!" Knuckles shouted, pulling. Rouge and Knuckles began to pull hard. "This is no time to play tug-o-war, Rouge!" Knuckles shouted.
Rouge smiled. "You look cute when you're angry." Rouge said. Knuckles looked at her, strangely. "ALRIGHT! LET GO YOU!" Knuckles shouted angrily, pulling with all his strength. Rouge began to laugh. "Alright," she said simply. Letting go, Knuckles flung across the island. "You knucklehead." Rouge chuckled, flying away.
Meanwhile, Sonic charged at full speed. He was beginning to slow down until he notice something chasing them. "GET BACK HERE YOU!!" the thing shouted. "Huh?" Sonic gasped. It was none than, Amy. "You were supposed to head home two hours ago!!" Amy shouted angrily. "Ah great," Sonic moaned.
A/N: Looks like these two girls can become a handful for Knuckles and Sonic. xD I tried likeable as possible. I hope you liked Chpt 1. :)
