Little Fishes

Pure fluffiness involving Sam and Phil and their desire to start a family together. OneShot

"Sam?"

"Mmmm." Sam replied, not looking up from her position lead on Phil's chest.

"How do you feel about us trying for a baby?" Phil asked, his eyes still watching the TV.

"What?" Sam asked, looking at him in surprise.

"I know we've never talked about it but I love you and I want us to have a baby together. So I can be a proper father for once." He said, looking down at her.

"I love you too Phil but it's a big responsibility. And let's face it; we're both out of practice."

"But we can learn again." Phil reasoned.

"I dunno. Maybe we should get a pet or something first. Get used to having someone who depends on us." Sam suggested.

"Ok, but you'll think about it right? Having a baby I mean."

"Yeah course I will." Sam smiled, kissing his hand lightly.

The next day Sam and Phil went to a small café opposite the station for lunch. As they were leaving, Phil led Sam into a pet shop at the end of the road.

"Phil why are we going in here?"

"You said we should get a pet. To get us back into the habit of having someone to rely on us." He said, closing the door behind him.

"Hmm so I did." She replied, peering into a cage.

"Now, what do you fancy?"

"No cats, I'm allergic." Sam said.

"No dogs, one bit me when I was little." Phil added.

"Aww but look at this one." Sam said, peering into a cage containing a white poodle. "This one won't bite you." She said. "It's so cute!"

"Sam that's not even a dog. It's more like a rat!"

"Don't be mean." Sam replied.

"Anyway, poodles are too girly." Phil added.

"You're not usually that bothered about things like that."

"No dogs!" He insisted.

"Alright …. Wuss!" Sam sniggered. Phil scowled at her before following her to the back of the shop.

"What about a rabbit?" Sam asked.

"Nah too girly!" Phil replied.

"Well what isn't girly?" Sam asked.

"A parrot?"

"Too noisy!" Sam replied.

"A hamster?"

"Too smelly!" Sam replied.

"What about a guinea pig then?"

"No! How would you like to be stuck outside all night?" Sam asked. Phil rolled his eyes and carried on around the shop.

"What about a snake?" Phil asked.

"No snakes." Sam shivered. "And no little insect things!"

"Why not?"

"I don't like them!" Sam replied, moving on from the insect section.

"I think we're only left with one option then babe." Phil said, sliding his arm around her shoulders.

"What's that?"

"A tin of tuna?" Phil sniggered.

"Awww yeah a little fishie!" Sam said, going over to the goldfish tanks.

10 minutes later the couple emerged from the shop with two fish in a bag full of water.

"Awww do you think they'll have babies before we do?" Sam asked.

"I hope not, the bloke in the shop said they were both blokes!"
