Elements of The new world
FoggyLight was wandering the forest. It had recently snowed, and her hooves made light indentations in the snow. She wondered how the world ended up like this. Pony upon pony, all driven to insanity. A war so great that even Celestia and Luna could not stop it. The changewings fled from it. And soon after, few survivors remained. FoggyLight had been one of the few who survived without the madness. Those with it, remained in the same state as the war, and were far too dangerous to be around. FoggyLight heard voices and hoovesteps approaching. Panicking, she fled deeper into the forest. With her heart pounding she dashed into a clearing, almost crashing into another pony. But this one had a crazed look in his eye, and was muttering things that FoggyLight could not make out. He stumbled towards FoggyLight, his muttering getting louder. "It's entirely your fault!" He practically screamed before charging at her. As she prepared for the worst, a strong pair of hooves lifted FoggyLight into the misty, frigid air. Being a Pegasus herself, she took not and started to fly herself. As she glided through the air, she looked at the stallion that saved her. He was an orange stallion, with blue shaggy hooves and calm green eyes. His tail and mane were shaggy and black, tipped with vibrant yellow. He had a couple of freckles on his cheek and did not look much older than her. "You alright young filly?" He asked. This simple comment hurt FoggyLight's dignity. She was not the largest pony but she certainly was not a young filly. "I will have you now I am not a filly!" She huffed. "And my name is FoggyLight. May I enquire yours?"
"The name's Livewire. We have to go this way." He simply stated turning mid flight and heading on a gentle slope downwards. "Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I thought you couldn't fly, since you weren't." He apologised. "It's fine. I have bigger things to worry about." FoggyLight said as they landed. As Livewire went to talk to some other ponies, FoggyLight saw her reflection in a nearby river. Her coat, normally grey with a white muzzle and legs, was tangled and black in places from dirt. Her light grey and white mane and tail had knots, leaves and snow in it. In short, she was a mess. An old pony wandered up to her. "The leader wants to see you." Was all he said, walking off in a different direction. FoggyLight was so caught up trying to figure out who the leader was that she didn't notice when Livewire trotted up. "The leader is this way." He explained, indicating with his head to the top of the hill. As they climbed the hill, FoggyLight caught snippets of conversation. "Is that her?" "Who does she think she is, walking with Livewire?" "Look at the state of her! How can she be called theā¦" Livewire was glaring at the group, making the shut their mouths. The pony FoggyLight saw at the top at the hill was strikingly familiar. "Leader Rarity. I have brought the newcomer." Livewire said respectfully, bowing.
"Good. Now leave. I must chat with this young one."
"Yes miss."
FoggyLight was shocked. How could the prissy, Drama queen Rarity turn into this rugged war fighter? Her normally sculpted hair was shaggy and here perfect white coat was covered in an army suit. Her eyes had changed the most. Once filled with a sparkle of creativity, they were flat and merciless. FoggyLight Cowered as Rarity marched up to her. "Why are you here?" She barked.
"I don't know. Livewire rescued me from a crazy pony." FoggyLight whispered.
"I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Rarity shouted.
FoggyLight repeated what she said louder. Standing to her full height, eyes slightly lower that Rarity's. FoggyLight realised something. If Rarity wanted her to be respectful, she was in for a rude awakening.
