Naruto dashed out of the room, his ears and eyes both burning. Back inside, dark lashes fluttered open to reveal obsidian orbs wet with unshed tears. Sasuke kept his eyes trained to the ceiling, wishing that he'd awoken much, much sooner.
When he spoke, his voice was raspy from one year's lack of use. "U… sura… ton… ka… chi…"
His eyes closed, and the tears fell unbidden.
