Once upon a Tuesday evening, Avril and Bri were playing build the tower and knock it over. Avril was far superior at the building, while Bri was the expert destroyer. At first it was fun, until Avril decided she'd rather not have all her hard work discarded.
She scolded her sister and, with a harsh word, provoked little Bri to tears afterword. Mommy came in to see what was the matter to which Avril cried, "I'm as mad as a hatter! You see what she's done? Gone and ruined all my fun!" "Avril Patricia!" Mommy said crossly. "Don't you see what you have done? Bri's just a baby; her fun's only begun."
"But you don't understand. I worked so hard for so long on my tower, to have her make it all go tumbling over." Avril wailed, "It's a disaster!" "My darling," crooned Mommy, "I hear what you're saying, but don't you know there are all kinds of playing? Bri is much younger than you are, my dear. The time will come when she will no longer wish ill to your tower."
Mommy walked to the closet and pulled out a small package. "I was waiting to give this to you, but now might be the time. A set of your very own wooden blocks to mind." Avril smiled hugely. "Just for me?" "Just for you. We will put them up high so Sissy can't reach, while the foam blocks will stay down for you to teach her the proper way to build up and take down. Who knows," Mommy sighed, "One day you two may be building for the whole town."
Avril kissed her Mommy and sauntered over to Sissy. She wrapped chubby arms around Bri's neck and placed a wet peck on her head. "I love you, Bri. Now let's play. I am sorry for yelling at you today." Bri giggled and cooed as baby girls do; smiled a big toothless grin and threw a block that hit Avril's chin.
THE END.
