AN: Before I start this story I would like to inform that I have deleted a few stories from my page as I know deep down I will never get back to them. I truly apologize for that. I get so many story ideas that I cannot finish the remaining stories on hand as my interest is on something else. This may be the last new story I add for a while until I finish my other's.
I've been reading a lot of Bella and Jasper pairings where Jasper never met The Cullen's and held onto his Major Persona. I find his dark side interesting and I truly do hope I maintain that throughout my story.
So...here's the summary: We know the story of Jasper's upbringing and how he freed himself, but what if he never even left the Southern Wars? Jasper is the new leader of the south after killing Maria himself. The ruthless Major is approached by The Cullen's, a coven of 6 vampires plus a human in tow. They seek his help in protecting their human against Victoria. The Major is curious as to why he is needed but decides to be of service. As he gives them shelter, he soon learns the real reason of protection in The Cullen Coven. He also can't help but be drawn to the human and for him, that changes everything. How will he stay fearless within his camp and still have a soft side shown only to one?
Chapter 1: Running
Mexico-
He watched in satisfaction as his army trained. They were getting smarter, more tactic. It made him proud, but he did not smile. His face was always blank, his eyes saying nothing. Just blank. Walking back to base he walked into his quarters and sat in his chair behind his desk. A letter was left for him from his second. Peter. Knowing this letter was days late, he opened it and read quickly.
Major, this will reach you in three days time and by then you have a day to prepare. A veggie coven will come seeking your protection. Knowing you, you'll turn them down immediately, but I must say, please don't. You will regret it. You must help them, it not only sets them free, but you sir as well. Take Care.
~Peter
P.S. They have a human...
Jasper sighed and immediately made the decision to dismiss them as soon as they came. A human would only create problems. His cell rang and upon pulling it out, it was Peter. Sliding his finger across, he answered the phone. "What Peter?" "They need your help." Jasper rolled his eyes and spoke harshly, "You and your cryptic bullshit. Why me?" Peter sighed on the other side. "You know that's not how my gift works. Major please. You need to do this." Usually Peter never begged, so Jasper knew this was not anything to brush off. "Fine. But you bring your ass here Captain. This is your doing." "Already on the way. You need us." The call ended and Jasper sighed. Walking out of his quarters, he ran off running to catch a quick meal. Running into his scout he walked up to him. "Keep check while I am gone. If anything is in disarray when I return, it's your head." He took off without a response knowing his scout will do as told.
Forks, Washington-
"Where are we going?" She asked, her brown eyes looking at him warily. "Somewhere in Mexico. Please do not ask questions Bella." Bella did as told and turned to the pixie. "Everything will be fine Bella. I've seen it. He'll protect us." Bella nodded, but asked another question. "Alice, why Mexico?" The bronze vampire placed his fingers on the bridge of his nose. "Bella...it's where he lives. Please Love." Bella frowned but nodded. She was just so curious. What help could one vampire do that the The Cullen's could not? Soon things were packed and Bella was ushered into the car with Alice in the passenger side and Edward in the driver's seat. Edward peeled out of the garage and the rest of the family followed suite.
Bella watched the greenery pass by quickly and closed her eyes, taking a nap. She dreamed of red eyes and blonde hair. It was weird for her, but she just dismissed it quickly. Hours later Bella woke up to the car stopping and Alice handed her a peanut butter sandwich. She smiled in thanks and opened the plastic and took a bite. Her face scrunched up in disgust and she looked at Alice questioningly. "Sorry Edward substituted it for Whole Wheat Bread." Bella shook her head and glared at the empty driver's seat. Once Bella was done, Alice helped her out of the car and brought her to stand next to the family. Edward was at her side instantly. "Love, please do not utter a word." Edward didn't want the ruthless vampire to take interest in his Bella. She was precious.
Bella rolled her eyes and suddenly, a tall man stood before them. He stood straight and glanced in Bella's direction briefly. His eyes were immediately back on Carlisle. "How may I help you?" Carlisle cleared his throat. "My name is Carlisle Cullen and this is my family. Esme, my mate, Emmett and Rosalie, my daughter Alice, my son Edward and his girlfriend Isabella, sorry Bella. We seek your protection against a vampire named Victoria. Her mate was after Bella and Edward killed him thus resulting in the chase. We have not gone to the Volturi as they do not know of Bella's existence." Jasper noticed that the leader did not say mate when considering Isabella and the bronze haired vampire.
"Why do you not just change her? This would be resolved very quickly." "That's what I've been saying." Emmett muttered softly and Rosalie elbowed him a little. " Jasper reached out his gift getting a feel of Edward's emotions. When Isabella's change was mentioned he felt disgust and denial. Jasper hummed softly waiting for an answer. To his surprise Bella spoke up. "I want to be changed, but Edward feels as if he will be damning my soul." Edward glared down at Bella and hissed softly. Jasper turned his attention to Bella. "Isabella, would you like me to change you?" Bella opened her mouth and Edward growled. "No. She cannot be changed. I will not damn her to this life!" Jasper growled. "You will watch who you speak to boy. I do not tolerate that in my camp. If you seek my help, then shut the hell up."
