The Golden urn wasn't worth stealing. Some gems were missing, it was rusty and it was covered in scratches on the left side. Maybe years ago it would have brought in a higher sum of coin for the guild, but it's current appearance wouldn't spin heads of the greediest thieves in Tamriel.

Bolli's house had a shadowmark near the front door signifying there was loot to be taken, so surely there was more than just this old urn right? Why would Vex send someone out for this if it was crappy and broken?

The woman took a step back and rummaged about other areas of the house silently. Eight septums were all she could get her hands on, because of this, Lacey decided she was going to quit the burglary job.

Pushing the front door open slowly, she crouched onto the streets of Riften. It was long past midnight, which gave Lacey just enough time to get out of there before Nivenor - Bolli's wife returns home from whatever she was doing at such an hour.

The streets looked quiet and still. Easy for her to slip back into the cistern without arousing suspicion from guards in the area...if there were any.

Everyone was asleep except those out on a job. Mercer was at his usual spot, hunched over the desk with a frustrated expression. Thankfully she didn't have to pass him on her way back to The Ragged Flagon.

As soon as she walked in she felt the tension in Vex's face. It hadn't been an hour since she'd given Lacey the job.

"Well? You done or what?" Vex crossed her arms while leaning against some crates in her usual spot.

"I want to quit that burglary job" the Breton replied without hesitation.

"First you take the job and now you don't even want it? I wish you'd make up your mind" Lacey felt her own brow lower at Vex's words..

"It wasn't worth taking!" Lacey said almost in a shout, her hands bundled into defensive fists by her sides. "Some jewels were missing and it was scuffed along the edges" Lacey crossed her arms. She stared Vex down waiting a response from the Imperial. Hopefully she'd give her another job. One worth while that didn't dance around stealing an old urn that was worth nothing but a few septums.

"Fine, take this and get outta here" Vex said with her lip in a curl.

Lacey walked confidently out of the bar area and through the storage cabinet towards the cistern. She fist-pumped in excitment when she was out of sight of the few guild members that still sat in the Flagon. Her mouth spread from ear to ear as she opened the note Vex had given her - she was eager to steal something worth talking about.

'Retrieve the Golden Urn from Marise Aravel's House in Riften'

Lacey slammed her arm that was holding the note down to her hip, with her back slumped.

"Why does everyone always own the same thing" she grumbled to herself, knowing this job wouldn't be worth talking about.
