Running Late
This is a piece I wrote as part of an audition for a RP so yes, it's short and there might be some gramatical errors, but I do my best, this isn't my native language...
The young man groaned as the rays of light danced on his face. His eyelids fluttered and then opened. With a small sigh, he sat up and rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. This was unusual. Usually he woke up before the sun had the angle it needed to shine it's light in his bedroom and, incidently, his face. He had to admit it was better than waking up to lady gaga's Born This Way. He might love and whorship the music icon, but any loud noise that disturbed someone's sleep at 7 AM on a sunday couldn't be considered pleasant, no matter how amaizing the song was. What time was it anyway... He looked at the clock on his wall and gasped, any leftover sleepyness leaving him has he jumped to his feet. It was almost 8:30! How could he have overslept like that? He looked to his bedside table and grabbed his phone, trying to figure out why it hadn't gone off at 7. When he pressed a button, the screen remained black. "Great" he muttered. So his battery died during the night awesome timing. Just when he had a date with Blaine... Blaine who he was supposed to be meeting in less than an hour at the Lima Bean...
The brunette gasped again as that fact dawned on him. He had less than an hour to shower, take care of his morning skin care routine and get to the Lima Bean. That wasn't nearly enough! He tossed the phone on his unmade bed and ran for the batroom, ignoring the questionning look his father sent him as he ran past him. Once he made it to the bathroom, he all but threw his pajamas off and jumped in the shower. 20 minutes later, a new record for him, he was out of the bathroom and back in his room with only his pajama pants on and a towel on his head, rubbing his hair dry. He let the towel drop to the floor and looked at the clock. He had 30 minutes to get to the Lima Bean. If he wanted to meet Blaine on time, he would have to forgo his morning skin care routine and take care of his hair. He just couldn't meet Blaine like this. For a moment, he considered texting Blaine to see if they could meet later, but he forgot that idea as soon as he thought it up. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with Blaine, and he wouldn't let his skin treatment, however important it was, take any of those precious minutes away. With one last mournful look at his lotion, he got up and opened his closet, grabbing the outfit that he'd chosen the prvious night, putting it on. He then went back to the bathroom to take care of his currently quite unruly hair.
With 5 minutes to spare, he was out the door and into his Navigator, driving towards the Lima Bean as fast as the speed limit would allow him. He would probably be a bit late, but he knew Blaine would forgive him. He was just wonderfull like that.
