"Yeah, I love that my girlfriend found a song for her and her ex who she has a strange friendshipy relationship with, it's great," James replied sarcastically.
"James, stop," Lily said suddenly sounding tired.
"Oh sorry, did I mess up your perfect memory of Ollie," James asked just as sarcastic as before.
"You want to know why it's our song?" Lily asked, not taking her eyes off the road. "It's because it was the first time I ever felt scared or vulnerable with a guy. I was dared by one of my friends to stage kiss him and then this song cameon when
my mum drove us home that night. We're still friends because our parents almost forced us together all the time. Plus-"
"Lily, I'm so sorry," James apologized cutting her off. "I had no idea Ollie was that important to you. I just got jealous that we don't have a song, that's all."
"James, we do have a song," Lily said with a laugh.
"We do?" James said confused.
"Yeah, you didn't know that?" Lily asked cocking her head to the side.
"No I didn't, would you care to enlighten me?"
"James, you can be so dense sometimes," Lily said with a shake of her head. "What's my favorite Muggle America song?"
"Gimmie that Girl by Joe Nichols," James replied immediately.
"Do you think that's an accident?"
"Oh, Lily, I love you so much," James said with a dumb smile on his face. "You know how much I love you when you don't have any makeup on."
"I do, that's why that's our song, because every time I hear it, it makes me think of us and the first time we woke up to each other."
