"I love you from here, Ed." Alfons smiled brightly at his boyfriend.
"What do you mean?" Edward muttered as he stared at his German lover.
Alfons shook his head with a smile.
"Why won't you tell me what you meant?" Ed tried again on another day.
"It's not important now." It may seem like a half truth, but Alfons couldn't bring up the nerve to finish or explain what he said and besides, it was too soon.
Too soon meant nothing as the world crumbled around them or at least that's how it felt over their hearts as the bullet ricocheted through the air.
"To here." Alfons finally finished though the hope remained for more after this one life or at least Alfons leaned a little more on the believing side though Ed didn't lean that way.
Hopefully, this was enough either for them or for their beginning.
