It was a usual, boring day. I came home from school, threw my backpack down, got a snack, and sat on the couch. I was watching TV when my sister, Miley, and her friend, Lilly, came home.
"Get off the couch! We have an important show to watch!" Miley screamed.
"What the heck?! I was here first!" Jackson yelled in defense.
"Please, Jackson? The All-American Rejects are gonna be on The Today Show and me and Miley really want to watch it," Lilly pleaded with her big blue eyes.
"Well, ok I guess so," I said as I smiled and went upstairs to my room.
"How did you do that?" Miley asked Lilly.
"Maybe you should just try being nice to him every once in a while," Lilly answered.
"Oh please, like that's gonna happen," Miley replied as she rolled her eyes and smirked."
As I walked up to my room, a million thoughts and feelings raced through my mind.
"Could I be getting feelings for Lilly? Nahh. I've never really seen her that way. But… she looked so cute today. But why am I just now noticing? I mean, she looks that way all the time. What makes today to special? This is really starting to get weird. Maybe a good night's sleep will help me take my mind off of it."
The next morning I woke up, still feeling the same way. It was really starting to bother me! I went downstairs to the kitchen, boxers on and hair all messed up, and to my surprise found Lilly and Miley downstairs eating breakfast.
"Whoa!" I said, startled, "h-hey Lilly. How are you this fine morning?"
"Fine morning?" I thought to myself, "Fine morning?! I never talk like that. Something is really up with me."
"I'm alright," Lily said as she chuckled.
"How 'bout you, Miles?" I asked my sister.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Now please spare us all and go put on some clothes!" Miley replied.
"Oh! Oh yeah!" I quickly said, already forgetting that I looked a disaster.
"Hey Jackson, is everything alright with you lately? You just seem so… jumpy" Lilly asked me.
"Me? Jumpy? Nahh. Everything is dandy!" I replied to her.
"There I go, talking all weird again. Man, what is wrong with me?"
"Ok, if you're sure." Lilly said.
"Yep, I'm sure." I said, staring into her deep blue eyes and adorable smile.
"Jackson? EARTH TO JACKSON!" Miley yelled.
"Huh? Wha? Oh yeah. Clothes. Well, I'll see y'all later. Bye Miles, bye Lilly." I said and then ran up the stairs.
"Something is up with him… and I will find out," Lilly said to Miley.
"Well good luck with that," Miley replied, "he hardly ever spills for me."
